I know that I haven't updated my blog in quite a few months. Being a mom of a Toddler and working two jobs makes it hard to find time to update. Today is my first day off in a few weeks and I'm finally finding time since Karson is down for a nap and the laundry is still in the dryer.
Working two jobs is difficult. I work at Starbucks and a daycare. A good portion of my time is spent away from Karson. I'm having to take time off school because I just don't have the time or money to do it right now. I've got a pretty good schedule going right now where I am usually home at night to put Karson to bed. His dad is the one who usually gets up with him because I am already at work.
Karson is growing up so fast. He's already saying so many words. He catches on so quickly. And now he's to the point where he watches what we put on the TV. We now watch lots of Disney movies and I'm having to update my collection. He is such a smart kid. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with him. He thinks he's a big boy. He wants to do everything that we do. I can't believe that he's going to be two soon.
I'm loving being his mom but sometimes it is so exhausting. I will try to post more often but with how busy I get it's hard to find the time.
The Tales of Being a Mommy
On October 3, 2012, I became a mommy for the first time. I gave birth to a beautiful seven pound baby. His name is Karson Michael Gordon. He is the love of my life, but sometimes being a mom is hard. Sometimes it's rewarding. This is my blog where I will talk about both.

Busy Busy Busy
I am so sorry to anyone who actually reads this for the lack of posts in the past year. I have been so busy. What with being a mom, moving from my mom's house, to Ryan's parent's house, being kicked out of there, getting a second job, going to school, and finding an apartment, I haven't had much time to blog. But since quitting Babies R Us and just working at Starbucks, I might just have time to blog now.
I had decided that I would still do school after Karson was born, but I didn't realize how hard it is to do it all. I thought it was possible and that any mom who had given up was just lazy. I now realize that that isn't the case at all. It isn't impossible if you can afford to just go to school and be a parent but we don't have that luxury. So it looks as though I am going to have to put school aside for the time being. This is a little disheartening, but hopefully if I take a year off I'll be more determined when I go back. Right now my prioruty has to be Karson.
I have also missed giving karson updates. I am sorry about that. Sadly the updates will have to wait until I can sit down at the computer and upload some pictures. He is walking and chatting up a storm. Though he tends to ealk like a drunkard and he mostly talks gibberish with a few english sounding words mixed in. I have faith that he'll get better with practice. He is also all about temper tantrums. He does them so well. He wants everything and when he's told no, he screams and throws himself on the ground. Its so cute that sometimes we do it on purpose.
We'll be getting internet this weekend so I will try to post again then. Sorry this post was so short.

9 Month Update
My beautiful baby boy is now 9 months old. Oh how the time flies when your days blur by in one big haze of exhaustion and frustration. We took him to the doctor yesterday for his 9 month check-up. He weighs 18 pounds which puts him in the 22nd percentile. That seems low considering the fact that he definitely feels huge. He's almost triple his birth weight but apparently he is small for a baby his age. He is a whopping 28 inches tall which is the 36th percentile. So he is a not too short but very skinny baby.
This little child of mine already has two teeth that grew in almost simultaneously on the bottom of his mouth. The teething that accompanied those teeth was pretty brutal. Lots of cranky nights and days, but the orajel and pain reliever really seemed to help. Well, his top two teeth are coming in now and if I thought the last round of teething was brutal, I had no idea that it could get worse. The orajel barely helps and the pain reliever really only gets rid of his fever. Maybe this is because of his winky surgery and getting to be on lortab for three days. Tylenol is nothing compared to the pain relief you get with lortab and it definitely doesn't give you a high.
Pile all the teething onto the fact that now he has a troublemaker personality and you have some problems. He loves to get into everything that he knows he can't get into. The dog food, the dog beds, the dirt in the house plant, the bathroom, grandma's room. Maybe we have too many no-no places, but really some of those things you would never want your 9 month getting into. He can be cute though. He gets this adorably devilish grin on his face when he knows he's doing something wrong. He gets the biggest smile when I walk into the house after a day of work. He cries when mommy, daddy, grandma, or grandpa leave. He dances to any music he hears, especially the theme song to That 70's Show.
Of course the frustrations that come with being a parent are nothing compared to the frustrations of being an adult. Too many bills, not enough money. Or the frustrations of being a student. Tuition costs too much, get extra financial aid because of being a mother, but have reached the maximum hours for financial aid. (Huh?)
Exhaustion comes very much from both being a parent and a working adult. The baby sometimes wakes up all night or takes a long time going down for the night, then you go to work all day for a week before getting a day off and on your day off the baby wakes up at 6 in the morning when he usually wakes up between 7:30 and 8.
Oh the joys of being a mom.
More updates to come when I'm not so tired from working all day and hopefully some happy posts. (I can't promise that I will remember to post soon, but I will certainly try.)

Six Month Update
Alright, so this is a new blog for me. I have decided that I should have a separate blog for my mommy stuff. So for those of you who would like to know about the first three months, you can check my other blog: thegoodthebadthecrazyme.blogspot.com.
So now for my six month update. My son's name is Karson Michael Gordon. At his six month appointment, Karson weighed 16 pounds 2 ounces, he measured 27 1/2 inches long, and his head had a circumference of 16 inches. His weight was in the 24th percentile, his length was in the 46th percentile, and his head was in the 13th percentile.
When we went home from the doctor, we started on solid food. Karson had his first bowl of cereal and his first puffs. He loved the cereal and he was unsure what to do with the puffs. He just made faces. After a week, he has tried and liked carrots and peas and he loves his puffs.
It's crazy to see how much he has grown since he was born. He loves tummy time, he can sit up on his own, he can roll over onto his tummy, he can hold the bottle by himself most of the time, he laughs and is ticklish, he loves to "talk". This baby has become such a happy baby.
I will try to keep updating as things happen. His next appointment will be in 3 months, so there will definitely be an update then.
